ENGLISH FILE ELEMENTARY 3rd EDITION – COMPOSITIONS

A MEMORABLE NIGHT
Ricardo Filho

I went to the stadium and saw the final match of my club. The match was amazing. It was approximately two years ago in São Paulo.  It was in Morumbi Stadium.

I went to São Paulo with my father and my uncle.

I wore a SPFC shirt, short and trainers.

After the match, I went to a bar to celebrate because my club won the final match.

The weather was warm.

I got home at about 6:00 am the next day.

It was a memorable night because my team won the match and I enjoyed myself tonight.
Ricardo Filho

I live in a big city. I have a flat in the city centre. I live with two girls, Maria and Gabriella. They are very friendly. In my house, there are seven rooms: three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen, but there isn’t a central heating. The living room has new carpets and the bedrooms have new furniture.

There isn’t a garden in my flat. My neighbours are very noisy. My flat is just five minutes from Rui Barbosa street and ten minutes from UFTM, supermarket, shopping centre and library too.

I like my flat, because it is comfortable and beautiful.

FILM REVIEW:
Silver Linings

by Ana Luísa Velludo Fugeiro

The film Silver Linings is based on the book by Matthew Quick. The film was directed by David O. Russell and stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, this last who an Oscar. It’s rom-com film.

It’s an American film and was relased in 2012. It was filmed on location in Philadelfia. It was fion location in Philadelfia in only 33 days.

The film is about the curious life of Pat Solitano, who had been in a mental institution after losing everything: his wife, his house and his work. He moves back to her parents’ house to restart and resume his marriage and overcome all the problems that he had. But her plans begin to change when he meets Tiffany, a girl who also has many problems. One of them is to find a partner to dance with her at a competition, and she asks Pat. In return, she would give a letter to Pat’s ex-wife (although in the end we have some surprises with this fact). And then, between this, they start to fall in love with each other and Tiffany helps Pat to forget his ex-wife and surpass his problems with love and dance.

I strongly recommend this film. It has romance, drama, comedy and an unforgettable plot, accomplished by a fantastic cast. It’s my favourite film.

DESCRIBING A FLAT OR A HOUSE:

Beautiful flat in Paris

by Ana Luísa Velludo Fugeiro

It’s a flat perfectly situated in the centre of Paris, next to the Eiffel Tower, on the 15th floor of a modern building.

It has a new lift and well-equipped halls. There are amazing rooms: four spacious bedrooms, a luxurious living room next (but separated) to the dining room, where you can find a window made of glass, overlooking a fantastic view, The Eiffel Tower. The flat is hi-tech with a great system of air-conditioning and a balcony with a lovely decoration.

The neighbourhood is so calm and you won’t have problems with this. The flat is a short drive from a theatre and five minutes away from good cafés, as Starbucks.

The area is ideal for people who would like to relax and have magnificent holidays with family or a medium group of friends. It’s a non-smoking area and it’s not suitable for pets.

This photo is of a large cottage beside Mackenzie River in Canada situated in a very cosy neighbourhood by the middle of the XX century.

Its area includes an enormous garden of about 500 square metres and a built space of 700 squre-metres, divided into two floors. It has five ideal bedrooms, each one with its own balcony, where you can listen to the amazing sound of the river. This property also contains a spacious and complete kitchen, a perfect garage (big enough for ten cars), four luxurious rooms and a breathtaking library with 1200 books and wi-fi internet access.
